I love omelette and this is one of my favorite and easiest breakfast recipe. Not only it is delicious, but it is also healthy and contain nutrients for your body. When I workout and go to work, this recipe can help fill up the energy I need.

    Recipe Ingredients

To cook your delicious omelette, there are only few ingredients you need.

Firstly, you need a fresh spinach which you will be frying it before mixing with the egg. Secondly, you need vegetable oil and onion when frying in the pan. I am using extra virgin olive oil or any olive oil since it is much healthier and gives good flavor when cooking and mixing the spinach.

Thirdly, you need salt and black pepper for taste. This will help season your favorite omelette. And lastly, you need egg for this dish.

Is Spinach and Egg considered healthy?

Some of you might think that Egg is not healthy because it's eggyolk can increase bad cholesterol (LDL) which is dangerous for your heart. However, while this might be true, egg contain good sources of protein, vitamins and other nutrients. Furthermore, egg also causes an increase of a good cholesterol known as HDL- High Density Lipoprotein. It has been shown that egg will only be unhealthy if you consume or mix with other fatty food such as bacon, butter or other oily foods.

On the other hand, spinach has low calorie and contain high sources of potassium, magnesium, and vitamins. They are rich in antioxidant and are good for your health. Also, because it contain low calories, it can help promote weight loss in long term. This benefits will surely outweighs the risk of having high cholesterol.

    Kitchen Utensil or Equipment Needed

There are only two important things you need to make your Spinach Omelette dish. First, you need a non-sticky frying pan. If your pan does not have a non-sticky function, you will not be able to make an omelette. That is because if you try to flip it, you are just going to breakdown the egg and ruin it. And of course, you need a spatula to flip the omelette.

    Step By Step Instruction

To cook an omelette, you will need to first add a few tablespoon of olive oil in the pan. Once it is hot, add onion and stir it for few minutes or till the color change to lighten color. After that, add the spinach and stir it for few minutes till it is cooked. Remove the spinach and put it in a small bowl.

Add the beating egg, few drops of salt and black pepper, and mix it with the spinach. Add drop of olive oil again, and once it is hot, add the egg in the pan. Don't stir it since you are making an omelette and not an scrambled egg. Let it cook for 1 minute on each side. Use the spatula to fold it in half, and then quickly flip on the opposite side. Cook that side for 1 minute before removing it and for serving.
